Hewei Zhao is a professor and doctoral supervisor at Beihang University. He is a recipient of the Excellent Young Scholars of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. In recent years, he has been mainly engaged in the design, preparation, mechanical property characterization and mechanism revelation of nanomaterials, and has carried out systematic research in the fields of high-strength and high-toughness nano-ceramics and nano-structure reinforced nanocomposites. At present, his main research interests are the synergistic control of nanomaterial phase and morphology, as well as the design and preparation of biomimetic nanocomposites and the elucidation of constitutive relationships. So far, he has published more than 40 SCI papers, including Science (1 paper), Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. (1 paper), Adv. Mater. (1 paper) and Matter. (1 paper). The papers have been cited more than 1300 times, and two papers have been selected as ESI highly cited papers. Some of the results have been featured in more than 160 famous domestic and international media, such as Science News, Scientific American, Xinhua News, China Daily, etc. He has been granted 7 patents.
